Artist's Description
An old screen door of an abandoned house sitting on the edge of a country road. Doors make me wonder about all the times they opened and closed...who entered and left...celebrations and sorrows within those walls. I love photographing doors, windows, and abandoned houses.
About Bonnie Bruno
Welcome! I am a nature photographer and mixed media artist, inspired by the colors, patterns, and textures God wove into our amazing world. Before I took up art, I spent 30+ years working for both mainstream and inspirational publishers writing books, curriculum, Hallmark cards, columns (Newsday), and magazine articles. My 21 years as a military wife fed my love for travel and adventure. We lived six years in Germany and in three regions of the U.S., eventually settling in the lush green Willamette Valley of Oregon, which we have called Home for the past 33-plus years. Faith, family, and the great outdoors. Life is good and I feel very blessed! Visit my Instagram feed for...

I appreciate your kind remark, Dawn. I just love doors, and the older and more dilapidated, the better!

Terrific find masterfully rendered! I love the way you've presented this door and the powerful emotional resonance that results. Outstanding and engaging work!

Thanks, Joan. Actually, this time I didn't use any digital texturing. :) The door was just in terrible shape, peeling and very rough and weather-beaten. The areas within the frame look textured, but that's a screen that was hanging and loose.

Excellent grunge effect, Bonnie! All that texture! Love it!
