Description
Lilac was my mother's favorite flower, and a large lilac bush grows in my yard. Every summer when the blossoms disappear, I can hardly wait for the next year to roll around. This photo was combined with a textured overlay for added interest. Photo was taken with a Canon 5D SLR and 100mm macro lens.

Francie, Thanks for your kind words. You know, I hear from a lot of people who say that lilac was their mom's or grandmother's favorite. I love the old lilacs (huge--like trees) that grow out at a pioneer cemetery in our valley. They were planted around 1830!

Lois, glad you enjoyed the lilac image! I wish my lilac bush would bloom year-round.........Robin-Lee, thanks very much for your "take" on this image. I've met so many people who love lilacs. They're just such a delicate flower and the scent is unforgettable.
